GoCoco Coconut Coffee
7th December 2016.
Thank you for voting over on Twitter. This week the winning recipe is one to surely put a spring in your step, it’s a coconut water coffee.
Let’s face it, we love coffee here at the Coconut Crib. We even ran a competition last month to win some delicious Minor Figures Cold Brew. Today, however, it’s time to DIY and make your own delicious morning pick me up!
True coffee aficionados will say "WHAT, INSTANT COFFEE?” but some of us just don’t have the time or equipment to get their brew on. So let’s get crackin'!
What you need:
- 1 tbsp instant espresso powder (or 1 shot of espresso)
- ½ cup boiling water
- 1 tbsp fat-free sweetened condensed milk (or any milk you prefer)
- ½ cup coconut water
- In a large glass combine the espresso powder and boiling water and mix until dissolved. (Alternately use ½ cup strong brewed coffee).
- Add the sweetened condensed milk and stir until dissolved. If you find it is taking a while, reheat the mixture and continue stirring.
- Once dissolved add the coconut water.
- Fill the remaining space in the glass with ice.
- Serve immediately.

On the second day of Christmas Go Coco brought to thee, a selection of Supernature Rapeseed oils! Often our neighbours at consumer shows up and down the UK, our friends at Supernature’s rapeseed oils really do understand oily infusions. In fact, in between selling coconut water we’ve been known to linger by the Supernature stand stuffing our faces with as many free pieces of oily bread a man could muster! Cold pressed rapeseed oil has half the saturated fat of olive oil, ten times the omega 3 and a very high burn point making it a versatile oil for any type of cooking. In addition, Supernature is the most awarded rapeseed oil in the UK and is a higher quality, much lighter, buttery tasting oil commended by two Michelin-starred chefs. They are a small and outspoken team who are proud to stand up for real, honest food. Sticking by their ‘Eat Right, Stay Brilliant’ tag line, Rude Health’s range of cereals, porridge, granola, flours, drinks and snacks contain nothing artificial and nothing refined. They source their ingredients from fields, orchards, and vines – not laboratories and therefore no thickeners, preservatives, colourings, flavourings and other additives are used – the proof is in the taste! We’re in a position to preach about them, those pumpkin cereal bars are tasttttty!

Day 8. Emily’s Fruit Crisps
Emily’s fruit Crisps are an exciting new range of snacks that have all the goodness of fruit with the crunch of a crisp. Named after one of the co-founders, these Fruit Crisps are something of a little love story. While Emily and her lovely partner, Alex were travelling in the Far East, they found an astonishing way of making crisps in a vacuum that preserves all the good things in fruit while still being amazingly crunch. They decided to make their own and Alex named them after Emily so he could see her name wherever he went…how Romantic!

Coconut crazy Jamie LLoyd is back with a smoothie recipe so nutritious you'll be left feeling fresh for days! Straight from #jamieskitchen, this high potassium coconut water blend not only hydrates but also aids in rapid recovery, weight loss and provides three of your 5 a day! Here's how to do it at home:
1 Mango Diced:
Mango fruit is rich in pre-biotic dietary fibre and contains several essential vitamins and minerals. Its' poly-phenolic flavonoid antioxidant compounds will keep tired skin looking young and well rested. According to new research study, mango fruit has been found to protect against colon, breast, leukaemia and prostate cancers.
1 Banana Diced:
Banana is a naturally high source of vitamin A and potassium, as well as providing dietry fibre necessary to regulate digestion and prevent constipation. Their probiotic properties increase the number of good bacteria in the gut helping the gut cope with toxins. They also contain high levels of vitamin B which aids in the production of white blood cells. Most of all, potassium is a great reliever of muscle cramps and this smoothie works after evening exercise to prevent the muscles from cramping during periods of lower blood flow when sleeping.
1 tsp Turmeric
Turmeric has long been used in Asian herbal medicine as an effective anti-inflammatory agent. Although very beneficial, much of the turmeric in this smoothie will not be absorbed into the blood stream... but we've got a plan. Adding some black pepper will increase the body's absorption of turmeric by 2000%! Voila!
1 tbsp Plain Yoghurt
Packed with calcium, protein and potassium, consuming yoghurt is a great way to aid in muscle tissue repair and muscle growth.
1 cube chopped ginger
Add some chopped ginger too to boost your immune system and aid in digetsion!
330mls Go Coco coconut water
We all know of the benefits of this potassium rich drupe, but why specifically choose our brand? Go Coco never add any sugar to the product. But how do we get achieve such a great tasting product then? Well, coconuts can be grown all over the world and come in several varieties. This means that the taste can change depending on the crop! We use a Nam Hom coconut from Thailand, a naturally nutty, vanilla-y, sweet tasting coconut with all the health benefits of other varieties. Zero sugar, zero artificial nasties, just 100% pure, natural goodness.
